Assists to balance anxiety and stress—feelings that can cause tense, agitation, and sometimes depression and insomnia. A 2013 study of more than 100 patients awaiting same-day surgery found that those exposed to bergamot aromatherapy experienced less anxiety than the control group.
Citrus cautions (bergamot, lemon)
Inhaling citrus aromatic oils to make your day can work wonders, but always use a carrier when using these oils in the bath or on the skin. Undiluted citrus essential oil can burn and make you irritated with regard to contact with the skin. Citrus oils may also boost photosensitivity. Thus, ward off using them before you spend time in the sun.
Atlas cedarwood (Cedrus atlantica)
Smells earthy and woody.
Originated through steam distillation from the wood of the Atlas cedar tree.
